Where Did March and April Go?
The last two months have been a whirlwind. March saw two spring break groups (St. Ben's and U of Illinois), several day groups (including the Luck school 2nd grade field trip), maple syrup season (one of our best years ever with 47 gallons), and now we are headlong into spring savoring the aroma of maple sap

If I Can't Sing I Don't Want to be Part of Your Revolution

The farm band is back in the studio.  We have seven songs in the can and a bunch more in the pipeline.  We are hoping to have a CD ready to go for fund raising in a couple of months. Years ago we were the movement band of choice singing at demonstrations, rallies, fund raisers, events, and just for fun. We are hoping to do more of the same now. If you need music for an event let us know.

If you want to audition the band (Relative Minor- because we are all related and a minor, little band) go to Neil Young's website Living With War Today. We are currently ranked 257 out of 3000 songs. The more you get listened to the more you move up the charts. Click on our song (Shovelin' Shit) which will take you to our band website.  Enjoy.

Larry Rosebaugh Gunned Down in Guatemala--Presente!

The first time I met Fr. Larry Rosebaugh he had come to visit me in the Washington, DC jail where I was locked up for demonstrating against Ronald Reagan's war policies in Central America.  I had not met him before so when this "look what the cat dragged in" looking character was sitting across from me in the visiting room I thought it was a homeless guy who had heard about our protest.  It was only then that  I discovered I was in the presence of one of the most remarkable souls to ever come along.

How to Build a Composting Toilet
We've been working on the website and one of the changes you will be seeing soon is a section on technology we use at the farm and how you can do  it yourself. In the meantime check out this photo essay on how to build a composting toilet that I constructed at Jonah House a few years ago.  Jonah House is a resistance community in inner city Baltimore that is homesteading a twenty acre cemetery.  Barb and I got our start there in the early 1980's before they moved to their present location.  Check out their website after you read about their toilet. Then you will be able to recycle your poop and save the world at the same time. How about that!
